FIRST ANYWHERE
The Story of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry 1909 - 1919

During the First World War the women of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry ran two hospitals; a convalescent home; a mobile kitchen and a mobile bath unit. They delivered medical supplies to the men in trenches and transported casualties along the evacuation chains to the ports of Boulogne and Calais.

Set against the social, political, and military backdrop of the early 20th century this book tells the story of some of those women who overcame challenges with tenacity and good humour and laid the foundation for their volunteer Corps which, in the 21st century, is known as the Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps

FOOTPRINTS
Secret Lives at Bletchley Park

"This wonderful little book is the story of a Bletchley Park volunteer tour guide swept back in history to the Second World War to experience the lives of two young Wrens working at that place during the Battle of the Atlantic. Author Philomena Liggins draws on her own experience and extensive knowledge, plus new research, including interviews with former Wrens, to give a real feel of what it must have been like for the thousands of young women who worked at Bletchley Park. Not only does Footprints describe how they lived and loved, giving you a real feel of what it was like to be a young Wren at the vitally important work they did, it will also send a shiver up your spine."

Micheal Smith author of 'The Secrets of Station X'

MOONLIGHT SERENADE
Secret Skies Over Bletchley Park

"This is a must for anyone with an interest in Bletchley Park or the world of intelligence. But for me, I was carried away with the narrative and caught up in the lives of the main characters. I am interested in history but am so often disappointed in historical novels that are more history than literature. Philomena Liggins' second book is a breath of fresh air in this regard, being a real page-turner whilst also being rich in the subject matter. Do not pick up if you have an early morning; as it is definitely one that is difficult to put down once started. I am looking forward to the next one; please!"
